Happy Birthday J.!

It's J.'s 26th birthday today (technically yesterday now) ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE!  He's spending it in Key West, so we certainly can't feel too sorry for him :)  I LOVE birthdays, so I am disappointed that we aren't able to spend it together but we managed to celebrate pretty well before he left.  He spent Friday afternoon at the Flagship REI with his old roomie, G.S. and then we had dinner at the Skagit River Brewery with friends to celebrate.  Saturday we went hiking and had a bonfire, but that's another post.

I somehow managed to not take one single picture during his birthday celebration, so I will leave you with some of my favorites from the past couple of years (we all know a blog post with no pictures is BORING):

  2. I know I'm commenting on a way old post, but I wanted to say that I'm pretty sure you travel more than any person I know and the Gorge is my favorite place in the whole world! Not many people I have met outside of my home town (Cincinnati) have been there so, you rock!

If you really enjoy traveling as much as it seems from these photos, you'll love Japan! Hopefully you get the duty station of your choice!

  3. Thanks Jes! My boyfriend is from Louisville and he's really into outdoor rock climbing so we've been to the Gorge a few times. It's such a beautiful place!

How do you like Japan? Do you think that it is manageable? I think it would be a great opportunity but it also scares me at the same time. How long are you there for?
