Seattle Bucket List

When J. was stationed in Mississippi, I had a million things I wanted to do in the South before he was stationed elsewhere.  We thought we'd have another year to get them done, but the Navy intervened.  So, while we went to Biloxi and Birmingham, we never made it to New Orleans, Memphis or Nashville.  I do not want that to be the case while we are stationed up here in the Pacific Northwest.  In an effort to (1) not forget everything on my list and (2) keep track of my progress, here is my Seattle "Bucket List":

  1. Ha, I haven't actually done a lot of these. Though I mean to. I do, however, have input on your list. :)

Knock off two and go camping on Lopez Island this summer at Lopez Farm Cottages. They have a campsite that's already set up for lazy people like me.
A little known wine country, not far from Yakima, is Prosser. They have some great wineries there, my fav is DavenLore.
As far as Rainier goes, I don't think you can go wrong. Summerland is pretty, Mowich Lake and the Spray Park Trail too. Or you could do the Wonderland Trail (the one that goes around Rainier), intense and long.

    That's all I got right now. :)

  2. This is a fantastic list! I've done the majority of the things on this list multiple times, and would love to do them again. Lake Serene and Boulder River are both great hikes. Mt. Rainier is fantastic anytime of year - right now it's a great place for snowshoeing and in the summer it's great for hiking.

I live within walking distance of all the wineries out here in Woodinville and I'd be more than happy to join you if you ever want to go tasting :-)

  3. I can't think of anything off the top of my head. That looks like a great list!!!

Oooh, wait. You should definitely try to see a show/concert of some sort at the Gorge. It's pretty amazing, but it is in the middle of the state, kind of by nothing.

  4. Ooh, you might have inspired a Down South Bucket List for us. I'm sure there will be a lot more fried food than hiking, though.

And I like how getting a job is last. Who needs a job when you have such awesome stuff to do? :)
