Kuala Lumpur, Part 2 (October 2012)

One of my favorite parts about KL was our hotel!  We stayed at the Shangri-la which I would highly recommend.  It was not in the most central location, but I love the Shangri-la.  They need to expand to America!

Starting my morning off right!

One of our must-see sights in Kuala Lumpur was the Batu Caves.  It is a series of caves, but also one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside of India.

J. and I ...
with the world's tallest statue of Murugan and the giant staircase leading up to the caves behind us!

There were monkeys everywhere!

How many monkeys do you see?

Looking back out at KL

This pair was just too cute

Another must-do for me was a night at Sky Bar in Traders Hotel.  It has an amazing view of the towers!

We arrived before the sun set completely ...

It is their pool by day and the bar by night ... I am seriously surprised that no one fell in the pool while we were there!

The towers!

We spent our last day sight-seeing around the city.  Our first stop was Merdeka Square.  The Malayan flag was hoisted here for the very first time in August 1957.

We finished our afternoon at Central Market!

Our view of the KL Tower walking back from dinner on our last night in KL ...

Most travel guides suggest spending 1-2 days in KL and then continuing on to other cities around the country.  We did not have that option, but I wish we would have!  There is definitely enough to do in KL to fill a few days, but I would have loved to see the rest of the country as well!
